Field Cooks are the heart of our camps and food is a huge part of what we do and you will help engage young people with what they are eating, how it's made and where it comes from. You will be responsible for providing high quality delicious meals for students, teachers and your fellow team. An important part of the role is ensuring that the storage, preparation and serving of all food is well monitored, maintained and controlled.
If you love being outdoors, and introducing children to food, then this is the ideal job for you – and the great news is, you will also be trained as a Tribe Leader. As a Bushcraft Field Cook you will be responsible for providing all meals, snacks and hot drinks on one of our camps.
- Although catering experience is preferable, it is not essential as full training and food hygiene certification will be provided.
- We are looking for people who have the ability to prepare fresh and tasty food in an outdoor environment. You will have gas to cook on, although a lot of our meals are cooked over open fires.
- Within this role, you will be reporting to the Camp Leader.
- Where necessary share appropriate information with professionals and/or colleagues as may be required to keep everyone safe.
